The Altered State is a laser cutting and engraving service based in Carnoustie, Angus (near Dundee).  Started in early 2017, The Altered State specialise in providing clients from all over the UK and beyond with top quality laser engraving and laser cutting at great prices and fast turnarounds.  As a result, we have a reputation for excellence bringing our customers back time after time.

Our Laser Engraving Machine / Laser Cutter Machine

We operate industry leading lasers with the fastest engraving speed possible in the industry.  This allows us the quickest job complete times available to our clients.

Lasers are very versatile and fast making them a highly effective and efficient tool with detail accuracy to 0.1mm.  This means we provide a top quality, precision service with the highest level of detail for a very competitive price.

To enable us to work with both business and private clients and to enable small volume companies to get their product to market, we have no minimum order quantity.  You can order 1 off to get started or as many as you like. Our turnaround time is flexible with our standard being less than a week but we can offer same day delivery.  We help our clients achieve their goals and to provide a great service with great value for money.

Materials We Work With

At The Altered State we can  engrave and / or cut a vast number of different materials meaning we can get your ideas made.  We work with designers and makers, entrepreneurs, businesses and other creative clients to laser cut and engrave / etch:

– Wood; Paper; Card; Acrylic; Rubber; Engrave-able plastics e.g. 2 layer; Fabrics including Tweed and Leather

We also engrave on:

– Glass; Slate; Anodised aluminium; Some metal marking is also possible with additional preparation.

Items can be flat or we have the facility to accommodate cylindrical items e.g. glasses by utilising our rotary device.
